About Keith Biggin

The senior operator who can also build, run, or stand beside the team that does.

There are senior advisors who can describe what good looks like. There are operators who can build it. The two are rarely the same person, and the gap between them is where most consulting engagements quietly underdeliver.

Biggin Insights is built around being on both sides of that gap. Almost thirty years of senior technology leadership across cybersecurity, cloud, compliance and delivery, backed by the operator credibility to actually finish what gets started.

How the work is shaped

Three shapes, one operator.

I run engagements in three shapes (Lead, Build, and Guide) held together by a single posture: senior accountability with hands-on delivery, AI-augmented throughout.

Lead engagements are embedded fractional leadership, owning a function for organisations where the work has outgrown an MSP but isn't yet ready for a permanent executive hire.

Build engagements are custom delivery: bespoke platforms, compliance environments and cloud foundations for organisations that have decided buying off the shelf isn't the answer.

Guide engagements are advisory and capability-building, designed to leave a team genuinely more capable than it was at the start, not more dependent on the consultant who left.

The shapes are different. The operator is the same. That consistency is the point.

Where the credibility comes from

Senior roles, hands-on practice, operator-grade delivery.

Underneath the practice is a career built across cybersecurity, technical leadership, pre-sales architecture, and senior operations, including senior roles at Exabeam, Trustwave, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, Telefónica and Check Point.

The detail that matters isn't the logos. It's the kind of work those roles entailed: senior, hands-on, accountable for outcomes that customers were paying real money to see delivered. That's the shape of practice Biggin Insights continues. Independent, focused, and AI-augmented for the era we're now operating in.

How AI shows up in the practice

Claimed once. Evidenced everywhere.

Every consultancy in 2026 claims to be AI-augmented. Most of them mean we use ChatGPT for first drafts. That isn't what this practice means by it.

AI-augmented here means the engagements compress because we use Claude, Gemini, GPT and equivalent tooling in depth across the actual delivery work: code, infrastructure analysis, compliance documentation, architectural review, opportunity assessment. The same toolchain that this practice helps clients adopt is the toolchain that built the platforms behind the case studies.

That's a difference in degree that becomes a difference in kind. Engagements that conventional consultancies bill as three-month projects ship in six weeks. Custom platforms that would have required a four-person engineering team get delivered by a senior operator working with current tooling. Compliance environments that would have taken twelve months reach audit-readiness in six.

This isn't a positioning claim. It's how the work actually runs. The case studies show the result.

Who this practice is for

Sector-agnostic by design.

Biggin Insights doesn't filter by industry. What it filters by is the shape of the problem: organisations facing a technology problem too senior for an MSP, too specialised for a generalist consultant, and too important to wait for a permanent hire.

That includes growing technology businesses. There's deep history with technology scale-ups, cyber product companies and platform vendors. It also includes mid-market businesses outside technology where the question is "how do we use AI properly," "how do we build the system we actually need," or "who runs our security and compliance until we're ready to hire someone permanent." Healthcare, professional services, manufacturing, regulated industries. The work travels.

If the situation needs senior technology leadership that ships, the brand is built for it. For ongoing thinking from inside the work, the insights notebook is the place.

Working with me

What the engagement actually looks like.

The first call is a 30-minute conversation. Informal, no slide deck, no sales pitch. Describe what's going on, hear how I'd approach it, decide together whether there's a fit. Most calls end one of three ways: yes, here's the shape of the engagement that fits; not yet, here's what to do first; or not the right operator for this, here's who might be.

If it's a fit, the engagement starts with a written scope, not a contract template. An actual document describing what's being delivered, in what timeframe, to what outcome. Discovery for Build and Guide engagements is paid and fixed-price; Lead engagements start with a defined first 90 days. No open-ended retainers, no ambiguous deliverables.

I run engagements personally. There's no associate network, no junior team. When you hire Biggin Insights, the senior operator is the operator who shows up.
